Agency

Use for a city department, office, agency, commission, task force, committee or other body.

Goals

This page is a landing page for a department or public body and includes their services, meetings, news, events, and informational content. While the page ultimately must serve public needs, it’s more department-centric than topic pages.

If you have a parent department, see guidelines for divisions within departments

Audience

Residents seeking a service
Residents seeking a specific department or public body
Partners looking for resources
Activists and journalists
Department administrators who manage relationships with partners and residents

How it works

Select transactions, resources, and profiles to be displayed on the page. Add quick links or spotlights to do outreach.
Meetings, news, and events will be automatically displayed if meetings, news, or events are tagged with the department.

You will have the option to choose if your Agency should be listed on the top level SF.gov/departments.

Examples

Office of Civic Engagement and Immigrant Affairs, Mayor's Office of Housing and Community Development

Notes

In November 2022 we combined the functionality of Department pages and Public body pages into Agency pages. This added the meetings section, cleaned up how child/parent departments are selected, and added the option to choose whether or not your Agency is listed at sf.gov/departments.
