About

Use for additional information about a public body or department.

Goals

Give departments and public bodies a place outside of their main department page to include extended information, like a mission statement, divisions, or partner agencies. This information is not service-related, less public-facing, and less frequently needed.

Audience

Potential partners or job hires, city staff

How it works

Select a department or public body. A button linking to the About page will automatically be added from the About section of that department or public body.

By default there are suggested section headings, but you can change them or add more. In your custom section, you can add things like divisions, partner agencies, or related departments.

If you want to include detailed descriptions about a division, or add organizational charts, you’ll need to create a separate Info page on SF.gov. About pages do not support images. When you are done with the info page, list the division on your About page and embed the link to the info page.

Resources are optional and they are links to pages on SF.gov or external websites. They display as “tiles“ and you’ll need a short description for each resource tile.
