Allowed uploads

You can upload PDFs, Word documents, spreadsheets, and images to the Media library on SF.gov, and link to them or embed them on most pages. The PDF process works for most types of uploads, except for audio and video.

Video and audio files

At this point you can not upload video or audio files onto SF.gov. This is because:

  • The files are very large and there’s a limit on uploads of 100mb right now

  • You must include a transcript with a video, and you can’t add a transcript automatically on SF.gov yet

We suggest uploading your video to YouTube, linking or embedding the video on your SF.gov page, then adding and editing your transcripts from YouTube.
